Best free CRM for a two-person team

Two seats is the one CRM decision where the free plans are genuinely generous, which makes the comparison harder rather than easier. HubSpot Free seats two without a card and holds 1,000 contacts, Zoho CRM Free seats up to 3 users, Pipedrive sells a 14-day trial and then charges per seat, and Freshsales undercuts everyone per seat once you commit. For a two-person team the deciding number is record capacity, because two people share one pipeline and one list of names, and the list grows faster than the headcount ever will.

Prices last re-checked 2026-09-27. Numbers are read from each vendor's own pricing page; any exception is flagged under "What to watch".

The short answer

Short answer: HubSpot Free is the best free CRM for two people: $0/mo, unlimited users, 1,000 contacts. Zoho CRM Free is $0/mo for up to 3 users. Pipedrive Essential is $14/mo per seat billed annually with no permanent free tier, and Freshsales Growth is $9/mo per user billed annually, the cheapest paid seat here.

Best for a live deal pipeline: Pipedrive

Pipedrive Essential is $14/mo per seat billed annually ($24 month-to-month), so two seats run $28/mo, and the plan is aimed at the pipeline view rather than a database of names. There is no permanent free tier, only a trial, which is why it is not the answer for two people with no budget. It wins when both of you live in the deal view all day and the per-seat price is worth the workflow.

Best genuinely free option: HubSpot

HubSpot Free is $0/mo with unlimited users and 1,000 contacts, so both seats and your first thousand names cost nothing. Starter is $15/mo per seat billed annually when you need automation, sequences and more pipelines. The trap is that 1,000 contacts: a two-person team with a scrape of 2,000 local businesses hits the wall while still paying nothing per seat, and that is the moment the free plan stops being free.

Best free plan for a third seat: Zoho CRM

Zoho CRM Free is $0/mo with up to 3 users, which covers two founders plus a contractor or bookkeeper, and Standard is $14/mo per user billed annually when you need workflow rules and mass email. Two seats on Standard is $28/mo, the same as Pipedrive Essential. Zoho is the only plan here that hands out a free seat a two-person team cannot use, which is why it and HubSpot are the honest no-budget answers.

Best cheapest paid seat: Freshsales

Freshsales Growth is $9/mo per user billed annually, the cheapest paid seat on this page, so two people sell for $18/mo total versus $28/mo on Pipedrive Essential. Pro is $15/mo per user billed annually and Enterprise is $29/mo per user. It lands fourth only on fit: Freshsales wants a longer cycle with scoring and territory rules, and two people rarely need either.

The prices, plan by plan

Pipedrive

Pipedrive starts at $14 per seat per month on Lite, $39 on Growth, $59 on Premium and $79 on Ultimate, billed annually (US$168 / $468 / $708 / $948 per seat per year); monthly billing costs more. Each card offers a 14-day trial and says no credit card is required.

PlanPriceWhat you get
Lite$24/mo, or $14/mo billed annuallyPer seat. Lead, deal and activity management, 3,000 open deals, 10 pipelines. US$168 per seat/year billed annually.
Growth$49/mo, or $39/mo billed annuallyPer seat. Email sync, workflow automation, 100,000 open deals, 15 pipelines. US$468 per seat/year billed annually.
Premium$79/mo, or $59/mo billed annuallyPer seat. Revenue forecasts, team goals, projects, 30 pipelines. US$708 per seat/year billed annually.
Ultimate$99/mo, or $79/mo billed annuallyPer seat. Project templates, 5-minute sync, phone support, 100 pipelines. US$948 per seat/year billed annually.

What to watch: Pipedrive prints the annual per-seat rate by default. On 2026-10-13 those cards still showed Lite $14, Growth $39, Premium $59 and Ultimate $79. The monthly toggle was not opened, so the monthly column stays the 2026-10-05 reading. Each card says a 14-day trial with no credit card. The Premium card carries Pipedrive's own Most Popular badge. This page does not treat that badge as a count of customers. Add-on starting prices were read on the annual view. Prices are per seat, so a 5-person team pays five times the seat rate.

Questions people ask

What is the cheapest option here?

HubSpot Free and Zoho CRM Free are both $0/mo on this page, with HubSpot seating unlimited users on 1,000 contacts and Zoho seating up to 3 users. Among the paid plans Freshsales Growth is the cheapest at $9/mo per user billed annually, so two seats are $18/mo versus $28/mo for two seats of Pipedrive Essential.

Do I need to pay for a CRM with only two salespeople?

Usually not. HubSpot Free at $0/mo covers two users and 1,000 contacts and Zoho CRM Free at $0/mo covers up to 3 users. You pay when you want automation, sequences, more than one pipeline or a bigger record limit, and the cheapest paid path for two seats is Freshsales Growth at $9/mo per user billed annually.

What does a two-person CRM cost per month once we pay?

Two seats of Freshsales Growth is $18/mo, two seats of Pipedrive Essential is $28/mo and two seats of Zoho CRM Standard is $28/mo, all on billed-annually rates. HubSpot Starter is $15/mo per seat billed annually, so two seats are $30/mo. Pipedrive's month-to-month rate is $24/mo per seat, which makes two seats $48/mo.

Which free CRM lets two people share one pipeline?

HubSpot Free, Zoho CRM Free and Freshsales' entry plan all give every seat access to the same pipelines, which is the part that matters for two people working the same deals. Pipedrive has the sharpest pipeline view of the four but sells a trial rather than a free tier, so a team that intends to stay at $0/mo should start with HubSpot or Zoho.

What is the record limit on the free plans?

HubSpot Free holds 1,000 contacts at $0/mo, and Zoho CRM Free caps records per module, so read Zoho's own limit page before importing a list. That cap, not the seat count, is what forces a two-person team to pay, because the contact list grows while the headcount does not.
