Best CRM with email marketing for most small businesses: HubSpot

HubSpot CRM Free is $0/mo for up to two users and 1,000 contacts, a deal pipeline and contact management - a free plan for one or two people, and email sits on the same contact record as the deal. The trade-off: marketing features are metered separately from CRM contacts, and HubSpot Starter at $20/mo per seat, or $15/mo per seat billed annually, is where simple automation and 1,000 marketing contacts start.

Best CRM with email marketing for automation: ActiveCampaign

ActiveCampaign Starter is $15/mo billed annually at 1,000 contacts (month-to-month is not printed), for 1 user and 5 actions per automation - the only entry here built around email automation first and the CRM second. The trade-off: there is no free plan, segmentation is limited on Starter, and unlimited automation actions wait until Plus at $49/mo billed annually at 1,000 contacts.

Best CRM with email marketing for agencies: GoHighLevel

GoHighLevel Starter is $97/mo for 3 sub-accounts, unlimited contacts and unlimited users - CRM, email, SMS and funnels in one bill you can resell to clients. The trade-off: there is no free plan, and $97/mo is the entry price whether you use 3 sub-accounts or 1.

Best CRM with email marketing for funnels and courses: Systeme.io

Systeme.io Free is $0/mo for 2,000 contacts with unlimited emails, 3 sales funnels and 1 course - the sell-from-day-one bundle. ActiveCampaign

At 1,000 email contacts, ActiveCampaign starts at $15, $49, $79 and $145 per month billed annually. Each card says Starts at. The page does not print a month-to-month price.

What to watch: The prices in the table are the 1,000-email-contact cards on activecampaign.com/pricing, read 2026-10-12. Each card says Starts at and Billed annually. That view does not print a month-to-month dollar, so the monthly column says not printed. Other contact counts were not on that screenshot, so this page does not print a contact ladder. The Pro card carries ActiveCampaign's own Popular badge. This page does not treat that as a count of customers. The page headline says guaranteed results in 30 days or your money back. That sentence is ActiveCampaign's.

Add-ons are extra. Some are billed per sub-account, some are a flat monthly fee, and WordPress hosting is per site. The same page also lists the certification program at $97 a month, online listings at $30 a month per sub-account, the premium prospecting tool at $29 a month per sub-account, and WordPress hosting from $10 a month per site. Mailchimp, Brevo and Constant Contact: what they cost

Every email-marketing comparison starts with these three names, so here is what each one actually charges. Every price below was read on the vendor's own pricing page and is re-checked weekly - the link goes to the full plan tables and the fine print:

Cheaper first paid month: Mailchimp Essentials at $13/mo, Brevo Starter at $9/mo and Constant Contact Lite at $12/mo are below the cheapest paid step among the picks above (Systeme.io Startup at $17/mo). Those entry prices are for the smallest list or send volume each vendor sells, so price them at your own size before you switch.

Compare these numbers against the picks above at your own list size: the cheapest tool for a 500-contact shop is rarely the cheapest at 10,000 subscribers, and the free tiers stop at very different places.

Questions people ask

What is the cheapest option here?

HubSpot is the cheapest option here to start - HubSpot CRM Free is $0/mo for up to two users and 1,000 contacts. Systeme.io Free is also $0/mo with 2,000 contacts and unlimited emails. When the free plans run out, the lowest steps up are Systeme.io Startup at $17/mo, or $14/mo billed annually, ActiveCampaign Starter at $15/mo billed annually at 1,000 contacts (month-to-month is not printed), HubSpot Starter at $20/mo per seat, and GoHighLevel Starter at $97/mo.

Do I need a separate tool to send marketing email?

No - all four send marketing email from inside the CRM. ActiveCampaign Starter at $15/mo billed annually at 1,000 contacts (month-to-month is not printed), is built around email automation; GoHighLevel Starter at $97/mo includes unlimited contacts for email and SMS; and HubSpot CRM Free at $0/mo keeps email and the contact record together.

Which CRM with email marketing is best for an agency?

GoHighLevel Starter is the agency option at $97/mo - 3 sub-accounts, unlimited contacts, unlimited users, and client billing you can resell. The trade-off: it is priced for agencies, so a solo business starts cheaper with HubSpot CRM Free at $0/mo or Systeme.io Free at $0/mo.

HubSpot CRM Free at $0/mo handles the contact and deal side, but selling courses is not what its CRM is built for.
